When we moved to Costa Rica we discovered the amazing Feria, or Farmers Market’s. What a vibrant hub of passionate people! We strongly suggest you visit as many as possible during your time in Costa Rica. They are far more than locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables!
The Feria’s in Costa Rica are a bustling colorful center of gathering for local artisans, farmers, wellness products, and healers. You can also expect amazing homemade food, fresh fish, cheese, and so much more! Also, the quality of these products are sooo much better than what you would ever find in a big box retailer supermarket where transportation is the main costs and the goods are picked green and shipped.
Prices are amazing at the Farmers Market(Feria’s) We now buy close to 80% of all of our food at these markets. On top of all of this there is often live music and a great chance to talk to the local healers about their wellness products. We have done everything from a therapy session, tarrot card reading, to talking to nutritionalists and herbalist about natural products, body cleansing, learning Spanish, and buying fruit trees!
